Drain Valve

Drill Stem Testing Tools Drain Valve is used to drain the volume fluid and release pressure when string testing is finished. It's consists of a ported body, sliding sleeve, and rotating nut, which controls the position of the sliding sleeve. The sleeve either covers or exposes the ports in the body of the valve.

Boban series sleeve type drain valve is suitable for sour service at all temperatures. A drain collar and associated components are required when relieving pressure. It is installed immediately above the lower valve. To obtain a large volume sample place a joint of the stand of drill pipe/collars immediately above the drain valve. When the chamber reaches the surface, a sample can be removed through the drain valve.
